WHAT IS HEALING
CURRENTS?
Inspired by the Indigenous teachings of the Sucker Moon, the Fourth Moon of Creation. Healing Currents is an interactive projection installation designed for the 2025-26 Lights On Stratford festival. As festival-goers walk past the windows of the Stratford Tourism building, they’ll be met with a vision of flowing blue waves dancing and rippling across the glass. In front of the exhibit will be a sign with a scannable QR code that invites visitors to respond to short reflective prompts.
Submitting a reflection generates a glowing digital sucker fish that swims across the windowscape, leaving luminous trails in its wake that echo sentiments of cleansing and renewal. The size of each fish corresponds to the depth of the participant’s response and creates a visual representation of the transformative power of meaningful, intentional self-reflection. The soft, harmonious reciprocity between motion, luminosity, and communal interaction not only visually embodies the festival’s theme of RADIANCE, but also the spiritual practice of healing and connectedness through shared light.
