Starting the Project
This week, our group started building the foundation for Healing Currents. We finalized our concept, created our project timeline, and completed our group charter so everyone has a clear understanding of their roles and deliverables. Healing Currents is an interactive light installation that uses architectural projection mapping to project flowing water visuals across the Stratford Tourism windows. The piece is inspired by the Fourth Moon of Creation, also known as the Sucker Moon, which represents cleansing, renewal, and healing. Visitors will be able to scan a QR code, write a short reflection, and see a glowing digital sucker fish appear in the projection. Each reflection adds to the work, turning individual thoughts into a shared visual experience of connection and renewal.
This week was focused on getting organized and setting up everything we’ll need to move forward smoothly. Jay is leading the creative direction and concept, Veronique is managing the technical setup and projection mapping, Zoey is coordinating the schedule and communication, Miranda and Sophia are creating visuals and media content, and Chantelle is leading marketing, communications, and documentation. We also started early brainstorming for how the technical and visual elements will work together in the final projection.
This Week’s Deliverables
This week, we created our group charter and planning documents, built our project website, filmed our Meet the Team video, and launched our social media pages with the first few posts. Zoey and Chantelle worked together on the website and socials, with Sophia helping create the visual assets for
our social posts to keep everything consistent with the project’s tone and aesthetic. Miranda and Sophia also began designing our logo and other visual assets needed for our website, branding, and first prototype.
It’s been a productive first week, and it already feels rewarding to see everything starting to come together. Next week, we’ll begin testing our first visuals for the projection, refining our branding, and planning how the QR code interaction will work.
