Week 3 is complete, and after our prototype presentation, we’re feeling motivated and inspired. It was a great opportunity to share our progress on Healing Currents and receive some really valuable feedback.
One of the highlights was hearing from Patsy Anne Day, an Indigenous educator. Patsy gave us some powerful insights into how the theme of reflection and renewal, symbolized by the digital sucker fish, ties into Indigenous teachings and culture. She helped us see how our project aligns with Indigenous values of healing and renewal. When we were developing our ideas, we didn’t have an Indigenous perspective, so it was reassuring to know we were on the right track.
It was also really motivating to see everyone else’s work. Hearing from other teams and seeing how much progress they’d made made us feel like our project was part of something bigger. It reminded us that we’re working on something that others care about, and that pushed us to keep working hard.
After the presentation, we felt even more motivated to keep improving Healing Currents. The feedback we got, especially from Patsy, gave us confidence that we’re heading in the right direction and deepened our understanding of the cultural significance behind the project.
We’re really grateful for all the support and insights, and we’re excited to keep refining Healing Currents as we get closer to the Lights on Stratford festival!
